Why I am getting married young.

Lots of people ask me why I am getting married now. I am 25, and definitely below the average age men are when they get married. And I always tell them, that in marriage, I wanted a relationship where me and my wife would go through a process of growth and adjustment, and possibly hardship together, before we got too inflexible/successful.

And today, I verbalized it in what I think is quite succinct.

"Marriage is a journey, but if you get married when you are too old, you have already reached the destination, and there is nothing left to do"

I dont think that's quite right, you know. Whatever the age you get married, there is still the process of growth and adjustment. It's the willingness to adjust (coming from both partners) that makes a marriage. Not their age.

Congrats on your engagement and my very best wishes to you and your wife-to-be for a happy married life :)

PS. I enjoy your posts - short and snappy, funny and thought-provoking. Couldnt ask for much more from a blogger!

@Shyam, but dont you think that people become less willing to adjust as they grow older ?

Gotta agree with Shyam.

No guarantee that two people will go along with each other's adjustments over time, just 'cause they start out early on the road together.

It's all a question of both committing to stay (and really honoring that vow), no matter what, forever.
