Video Games Meet Trump !

Its watched the first episodes of both the versions of "The Apprentice" this week - The Martha Stewart version and the good ol' Donald Trump version. The Martha Stewart version was quite horrible and seemed to be more of an interior decorating/house-keeping show. In fact, the stock value of Martha Stewart Omnimedia plunged the day after her maiden episode.

Donald Trump on the other hand was at his usual flatulent best with his helicoptering, golf course owning and of course, the horrible hair.

Of course, everyone thinks they can run a company. And lots of people think they can do a much better job than their CEO. And of course there's a group of people that think that theres nothing to it :-)

And given the immense success of video games, I wonder if there is a market out there for a video game where you are the CEO and need to make all the typical decisions that a CEO needs to make, in addition to having the ability to hire/fire/expand/declare bankruptcy/go public etc ... Would people be interested in playing such a game ? I know I would. Readers, what about you ?

Given how fast-paced most games are I wonder if there'd be much of a demand. Well, ok, there's Myst and the like...

I must say, I really liked what I saw of the Martha Stewart version. The set was far more attractive (given that Trump's apartment looks like he used the same decorator as Saddam Hussein did for the palaces), and I liked that there was a bit more substance to the task, and the evaluation of the final product (paper quality, illustrations, etc.) and while she's cool and oozing good taste, we the viewers still get to watch the participants bare their teeth and snarl.

I thought the golf course bit was silly, making grown men and women run to a helicopter... it had a Fear Factor flavor to it.

And what was that Melissa on? First she was all hyper about "I'm a Latina, I know what we should do" and then the "Women don't like to work with me, they get intimidated and jealous." (That last line reminded me of the George Lopez "Why you crying?" show where he talks about the 4ft 11" 200lb aunt who things everyone's jealous of her.)

Thanks for your detailed comment !! I agree with you re: the golf course run :-)

I think on the Apprentice, all the contestants know exactly what to expect and they seem to be more worried about deciding whom to blame even before the task ends ...

And Melissa, oh god, she was bonkers - Shes the kind of person who is probably going to file a discrimination suit or something !
